Invite someone

In the dashboardUsers & Identities›Invite user
  1. Enter their email and a role

Pick admin or viewer for teammates who use the dashboard, a custom role for your product, or No role for people who only sign in to your app. See Roles and groups.

  2. They accept

They get an email with a link that is valid for 7 days and works once. They enter their name and choose a password, and their account is ready.

Pending invitations are listed under Users & Identities with when they were sent and when they expire. Resend sends a fresh link; Revoke cancels it.

Invitations are the safest way to add people: you never see or send their password. You can change the invitation email under Email templates.

Create an account directly

In the dashboardUsers & Identities›Create user

Enter their name, email, an optional username (it defaults to the part of the email before the @) and an initial password. Use this for test accounts or when importing people, and ask real users to change the password when they first sign in.

  -H "Content-Type: application/json" \
  -d '{ "email": "ada@example.com", "username": "ada", "password": "…", "first_name": "Ada", "last_name": "Obi" }'

User-provisioning actions run before any account is created and can turn it down or tag it.
